The [Guatemala Data Hub](https://sites.google.com/usaid.gov/guatemaladatahub/home) shares public data from the USAID/Guatemala Mission and other public datasets to serve the needs of USAID, its partners, academic institutions, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations. The Guatemala Data Hub is a Google Site with multiple embedded web applications, including - **Data Catalog**: searchable and filterable access to all datasets in the hub. - **Map Viewer**: interactive mapping application to display datasets geospatially The hub also includes a page with resources for partners such as a [Data Management Plan (DMP) guide](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r0HUD6JvFsuBkpeFgTwaT9Qpmb9H0s1mIhbvGTNGt0s/edit?usp=sharing). The Guatemala Data Hub is more fully described in the [[Atlas]] project. The Guatemala Data Hub was featured in the USAID GeoCenter's February 2024 Map of the Month, which shows the Guatemalan municipalities where investments could be made in youth development. To make the map, the data scientist supporting the Mission used datasets from the Data Catalog to create a composite index from 12 indicators. The index includes demographic data about Indigenous populations and rates of malnutrition, illiteracy, WASH (Wash, Sanitation, and Hygiene) coverage, crime, violence, and teen pregnancy. To determine where to place future youth development activities, the Mission is overlaying this map with migration data, returnee information, and organizational capacity of local organizations. Through a USAID regional initiative known as the Central American Service Corps, Guatemalan youth in the prioritized areas will receive academic, technical, and soft skill training; participate in a six-month community service internship; receive support to advance their education; connect to jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities; and continue their civic engagement. ## Screenshots Since the defunding of USAID in 2025, the Guatemala Data Hub may be taken offline at any time.
