Holistic Psychology, developed by [[Dr. Nicole LePera]] and described in her book [[How to Do the Work]], combines multiple schools of clinical psychology, borrows from both eastern wisdom traditions and western medicine, and includes reparenting, shadow work, breath and bodywork, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, etc. She calls her community of followers `#SelfHealers`.
To be honest, the whole endeavor is a bit cringe and smacks of narcissism and an over-indulgence in one's own bullshit. LaPera has been subject to online scrutiny from her colleagues for her wide-ranging approach. At it's worst, Holistic Psychology is a grab bag of self-help buzzwords. At best, it's so broad that any one practitioner could only have a surface-level understanding of the various schools from which it draws its techniques.
That said, I find her story so relatable in so many ways and her insights so meaningful. She may need Holistic Psychology more than most of her clients, but she's worth listening to.
