[OBS](https://obsproject.com/download) (Open Broadcaster Software) is a great free and open source option for screen recording (especially on Windows).
To install, download the installer from the home page or find it in the Microsoft Store.
Find a recent tutorial on YouTube to get started (this one by [Primal Video](https://youtu.be/9z9GiEM4uvA?si=PuBr62vkAOKW1VSU) was the top hit for me; but you might find something that is more tailored to your use case like OBS for gaming or OBS for presenting).
OBS Virtual Camera allows you to do live video editing with presentation platforms like Zoom and Google Meet.
